Integration of the Accessibility Strategy with the LTP
It’s essential that the accessibility strategy and the LTP are consistent and integrated. To that end, the objectives for the LTP should set the context for those of the accessibility strategy, and the actions of both should be mutually supportive.
You should use the analyses undertaken for the LTP to support your understanding of accessibility issues, and vice versa. Any potential conflicts or parallels between the other LTP policies and the Accessibility Strategy should be identified. Where conflicts are possible, you should consider how these are to be addressed and how they could be resolved - either by altering other LTP policies or those of the Accessibility Strategy. It is essential that the two are consistent; results from the Accessibility Strategy should be built into other relevant strategies (such as the bus strategy, for example).
Bear in mind too, that, if they will affect accessibility in your area,
links to the policies contained in the LTPs of neighbouring LTAs may also
be relevant.
Additional links between other LTP policies and the Accessibility Strategy
can be demonstrated by highlighting the intended use of accessibility
analysis in the development and ongoing implementation of the LTA’s wider
