Phased programme for improving accessibility

A phased programme for improving accessibility, i.e. setting out the timeframe for tackling the identified priorities over the remaining LTP period.

At this stage you need to develop an outline programme to show your schedule for tackling the identified priorities, and developing and implementing action plans to deliver your strategy. Your programme will be focused on your priority issues and should cover the five years of the LTP.

Remember: work on assessing accessibility and producing action plans doesn’t stop when your LTP is submitted and it is unlikely that all of your accessibility action plans will have been fully developed by then. Therefore, information on ongoing local accessibility assessments—which might lead to action plans drawn up beyond March 2006—should also be included.

You should also expect to revisit and revise the programme from time-to-time over its lifetime.

See the table in the next section on Local Accessibility Action Plans for more information.
